History

The Asian Rope Skipping Federation (ARSF), was established on October 21, 2001 by Prof. Lee, Jong-Young (ARSF Honorary President) & Prof. Kim, Su-San (South Korea), Mr. Sadatoshi Watanabe & Mr. Nori Taguchi (Japan), Mr. Shan (Malaysia), and Ms. Lin (Chinese Taipei). The founding was initiated with the suggestion and help of FISAC leaders Mr. Ron Kappert, Mr. Richard Cenali, Mr. Geert Hoste, and Mr. Eric Herber.

ARSF is the official Asian continental federation affiliated with the FÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DE SAUT À LA CORDE – INTERNATIONAL ROPE SKIPPING FEDERATION (FISAC-IRSF). Various grassroots rope skipping exchanges and events have taken place over the years between skippers in the various ARSF countries. In addition, ARSF organizes the Asian Rope Skipping Championships (ARSC), a major international rope skipping competition. The ARSC is currently held every other year, in years alternating with the FISAC World Rope Skipping Championships.
